Moxie Fab World Trigger Tuesday: Ready For Red

Today’s Moxie Fab World Trigger Tuesday: Ready For Red inspiration image (which you can see below) was absolutely jaw dropping for me!  I LOVED the contrast of the flowers and vines against the background – and the pop of red and woodgrain tones from the chair…absolutely delish! So I tried to bring all those elements into my card for this challenge.

Papertrey Ink’s Smokey Shadow card stock was pretty much a perfect match for that gorgeous dark background – so that served as both the base of my card as well as my stamped and embossed panel.  To get the effect of the wallpaper in the image I stamped images from Papertrey Inks Rosie Posie stamp set as well as their Fancy Flourishes stamp set onto a strip of the Smokey Shadow card stock in Vintage Cream pigment ink and then embossed the images with Vanilla White Regular Embossing Powder from Wow! Embossing Powder.  I brought in wood tones in the chair with a panel of woodgrain patterned paper from Studio Calico’s Take Note 6 x 6 paper pad.   I brought in the pops of red by matting my Smokey Shadow panel onto Cherry Cobbler card stock and through my embellishments: gorgeous red velvet ribbon a red flower and the heart pin (all from Maya Road).  I accentuated the cream from the embossed flowers and vines with a beautiful pearl vintage trinket and pearl-colored butterfly pin from Maya Raod.  Finally, because my cluster needed a third flower, I brought in some of the warm brown in the lighter tones on the paper with a rose from Priam’s En Francais Charme Roses.

Supplies:

Stamps: Rosie Posie, Fancy Flourishes (Papertrey Ink), Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired Stampin’ Up!)
Ink: Vintage Cream Pigment Ink (Papertrey Ink), Midnight Black VersaMagic Chalk Ink (Tsukineko)
Paper: Smokey Shadow card stock (Papertrey Ink), Cherry Cobbler card stock (Stampin’ Up!), Woodgrain patterned paper from Take Note 6 x 6 pad (Studio Calico)
Accents: Red Velvet ribbon, Vintage Pearl Trinket Butterfly Pins, Vintage Trinkets, Heart Trinket Pins (Maya Road), light brown rose (Prima)
